Design one readable play
Drama Skills carries a moving object’s controller, direction, route and opposition across cuts. This original basketball example explains that method rather than teaching competition rules or guaranteeing a model’s output.
Accepted action: Lin Cheng holds the ball on one side of half court. Xu Zhou waits nearer the basket; a defender blocks the direct pass. Lin passes to Qiao Yin in an open position on the other side. After securing it, Qiao passes to Xu. The scene’s point is a relay around a blocked route.
Mark actual positions and paths on a sketch. “Brilliant teamwork” omits the first recipient; “the ball flies at the basket” changes a pass into a shot.
Example: show each new controller
| Purpose | Start–end | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Establish obstruction | Lin holds the ball; defender blocks the direct route | Why the relay is chosen |
| First pass | Lin releases; Qiao receives and controls | Path and first ownership change |
| Second pass | Begins with Qiao holding; ends with Xu receiving | The relay, without another release from Lin |
These are information responsibilities, not a three-shot or duration rule. A readable continuous view may carry both passes. If cutting, check how the next camera sees the same route.
Scoring requires a separately designed release, arrival and confirmed outcome. Receiving a pass is not scoring, and cheers cannot supply an unshown result.
Check position, direction and time across cuts
For each cut, record the ball’s previous end position, controller and movement; the next start; any explicit time jump; the information causing tactical change; and whether score or time matters.
A reversed screen direction may come from an unexplained camera-side change. “Smooth movement” cannot repair an inconsistent observation relationship.
Include score and timing when they affect a decision. If exact digits cannot be reliably generated, use agreed graphics or sound rather than letting the model invent a score.
Repair missing stages before adding emphasis
If the ball appears in a receiver’s hands, locate the missing release, path or reception. More dramatic slow motion cannot restore control. A shot after a completed catch starts with possession rather than repeating the catch.
If one shot demands a steal, turn, full-court run, pass and score, identify necessary stages and adjust boundaries or duration. Dependent actions cannot all occur simultaneously.
A reaction can show a defender recognizing the relay and adapting. Ordinary cheers can follow the result. Review actual clips at normal speed; a coherent design table does not prove generated motion works.
FAQ
Can cheers replace a pass?
Not when the path and transfer are necessary information. Make the action readable before adding reactions.
Do it with the skill
Use $short-drama-storyboard to map the ball, controller, receiver and defenders. Define each release, transfer, catch and finish. Check position, direction, control and time across cuts. Do not invent scoring or use cheers to replace a pass. [Accepted action].
