Identify what each restriction protects
Drama Skills makes restrictions subordinate to the current shot, rather than adding a permanent global ban after each failure. It also states that a negative clause is not itself a defect; do not assume a model necessarily generates what the clause excludes.
| Clause | Treatment |
|---|---|
| No extra people | Establish who appears and who may enter. Specify the intended count and entry path. |
| No drifting props | Name the object, position, and holder to preserve; do not forbid a required handoff. |
| No text anywhere | Check required evidence labels or displays. Define permitted text separately from subtitles. |
| No noise | Distinguish ambience, action cues, and unwanted sound. Keep a knock that triggers the action. |
| No blur; high quality | State what viewers must read. Change framing or production method when needed. |
Fewer is not automatically better. Keep conditions useful to this shot; remove unrelated, contradictory, or merely aspirational wording.
Original rewrite: close the archive box and keep its label
This original shot design has not been generated. Established facts: one administrator sits behind a table with an open archive box. Its lid label reads “Pending Review.” At the end the lid is shut and the label remains visible. There is no dialogue; retain the closure sound.
Restriction pile:
No crowds, extra hands, text, noise, deformation, or look changes. The administrator closes the box naturally, cinematic.
It contradicts the required label and closure sound, while leaving the starting action vague.
Revised action passage:
Begin with the administrator alone behind the table and the archive box open. The left hand steadies the box while the right lowers the lid. Once it closes, both hands leave the box and rest by the table edge. The camera stays fixed with box and label visible. The box remains in place; the label moves with the lid and ends centered on its surface. No dialogue or subtitles; retain one lid-closing sound. The label is the only permitted text area and reads “Pending Review”; add no other writing.
This is a prompt design, not proof of correct lettering or motion. If the project uses lettering in post, first confirm its surface and completion method in the storyboard and text plan, then revise accordingly. A blank label is not already readable evidence.
Restrictions cannot clean reference pixels
If a reference already contains old subtitles, signage, or unwanted people, inspect the input first. Choose cropping, local cleanup, masking, or replacement according to the effect on identity, geography, and composition. Inspect the treated image; adding “no text” is not an observation.
If the required label differs from the reference, record that difference. Do not treat the image as authoritative lettering while asking the model to ignore it. Identity, composition, and text references may have different roles; state what each may control.
Avoid rewriting an already correct appearance and background in motion prose. See image-to-video prompts for static-information subtraction. This page focuses on whether exclusions protect or damage the shot’s purpose.
Compare changes you can explain
After viewing an output, record an observation such as “the label disappears after closure,” then investigate input conflicts. Preserve correct identity, framing, and action; change the label’s holding requirement or relevant reference. Explain linked changes when needed. Record the input version instead of merely “added negative words.”
Without an output, review text only: can start reach end, do exclusions remove story content, and do references agree with text policy? There is no cross-model quota, English word list, or guaranteed phrasing. Compare constraints against the current project and known target-model conditions.
FAQ
Must every negative prompt become a positive statement?
No. Keep necessary exclusions, especially for subtitle or sound layers and content that must not be added. They should be applicable, testable, and consistent, while the main passage states what actually happens.
Do it with the skill
Use short-drama-video-prompts to review each restriction against this shot’s obligations. Keep necessary exclusions and remove unrelated bans. Check reference pixels, readable text, sound, and boundaries. Infer no generated result from a word list and add no story facts.
