Locate the Defect in the Input or Motion
Inspect the actual reference used and the output, rather than inferring pixels from text. Record the last normal, first abnormal and final abnormal points.
| Observation | First response |
|---|---|
| Fingers or grip are wrong in the starting image | Correct the image and corresponding start before motion |
| A turn or occlusion introduces the defect | Check posture, occlusion and phase boundaries |
| Hand and small object merge during contact | Clarify approach, contact, force and result |
| Action works but local appearance is wrong | Assess a bounded repair and recheck continuity |
Drama Skills’ generability reference identifies fine-operation risk without guaranteeing a model’s finger or action capacity. Object handoffs concerns two-person transfer; this page also checks single-person anatomy and manipulation.
Avoid Incompatible Tasks for One Hand
“Hold a key, pin the lid down, turn a ring and open the clasp simultaneously with the right hand” combines grip, support and fine manipulation. Identify the story requirement first: must viewers see unlocking, or understand a choice to close the box? Those outcomes are not interchangeable.
Specify contact and resulting state in order. “The palm settles on the lid and stays after closure” is more checkable than “the hand moves naturally.” Distances and finger lists should not replace the action’s purpose.
For a local reference-image defect, specify target region, change, preserved face and composition, and affected shots. The image-prompt skill creates edit instructions; a production tool must execute them and the returned image still needs inspection.
Original Example: Close the Box Without Losing the Choice
Accepted scene: Qi Yao closes the commemorative-medal box on the table to deny Lu Heng access for now. The medal stays inside. Lu sits opposite with a hand already reaching for the box, then withdraws it after seeing closure. Qi neither locks the box nor hands it over.
The original action plan adds turning a ring, adjusting a clasp with two fingers, holding a key and closing the lid together. Suppose footage merges hand and clasp. Remove ring and key manipulation that carries no story duty; do not invent a locked box.
A simplification for the creator to consider
Start with the lid open and medal inside. Qi Yao moves her right hand to the outer lid edge and closes it, then rests her palm on the closed lid. Her left hand stays on a clear part of the table. Lu Heng watches the box and withdraws the hand already reaching for it. Keep a fixed medium close shot with lid and hand readable; the box remains in front of Qi at the end.
Closure and the resting hand express a current refusal, not permanent prevention or a new lock. The actual starting frame must support these relationships, or text-to-video prose must supply visual anchors. Check the proposal against the script first; this is not a successful generation report.
Do Not Hide an Indispensable Technique
Playing an instrument, repairing, secretly swapping or touching evidence may be the very process viewers must judge. Moving hands out of frame, cutting to a face or showing only completion can erase technique, evidence or identity. Compare shot splitting, clearer framing, live action or animation when the process matters. State which duties belong to pickups and the main take.
Check hand defects in [actual footage and references]. Locate them and separate input anatomy, ordering, contact and occlusion. Preserve [required technique, possession and boundaries]. Propose the smallest change without inventing locks, transfers or identity facts. List missing material and pickup duties when existing footage cannot preserve the process.
Recheck shape, grip, count, completion and next-shot continuity at normal speed and near the defect. A clean still does not prove clean motion, nor does one improvement establish performance across models.
FAQ
Is “five fingers, no deformation” enough?
It cannot replace a valid reference, contact target and action conditions. Locate and revise the affected layer. Necessary exclusions may remain, while actual output determines usability.
Do it with the skill
Use /short-drama-video-prompts or $short-drama-video-prompts in Codex to revise motion under an accepted shot. Route reference-image defects to bounded edit instructions in short-drama-image-prompts. Neither instruction step proves media was repaired; produce and inspect the result.
